A device that accurately measures the refresh rate latency of touch screens.

 

(Capacitive Touch Response Latency Measure). A Project conducted at NASA Ames Research Centre, which more accurately measures the screen latency of touch screen devices. It is cheaper, faster and more accurate than current methods, and has replaced a mechanical system with an electrical one to deliver more precise measurements. A light dependent resistor is used as a switch to ground a capacitive pad on the screen's surface. When a flash is received from the device, the pad draws capacitance from the screen, simulating a touch. Timestamps are taken at various stages throughout the process to measure the latency of the devices touch screen.
